1 electrocuted in capital

DHAKA: A man was electrocuted in Malibagh area of the capital on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sanwar Hossain Sanaul, 35, a mason, who used to reside in Madhubagh area of Mirbagh of the city.

Sanaul was working at the house no. 1160/A in Chowdhury Para of the area; finishing his day work, he was taking preparation to leave the workplace and go home, said Nuruddin, owner of the house.

At one stage, he came in contact with a live electric wire at 3:00pm when he laid himself against the wall, leaving him injured critically, Nuruddin added.

Sanaul was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.

DMCH Police Camp In-Charge Sub-Inspector Fazlur Rahman confirmed the death news.
