COX’S BAZAR: The coast guard personnel recovered 60,000 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from estuary of Naf River under Teknaf upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

Sources said that acting on a tip-off the coast guard personnel conducted a drive around 4:30am. Sensing the presence of law enforces, drug peddlers fled the scene, leaving the bags of Yaba tablets.

Confirming the matter, Teknaf Coast Guard Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Harun Ur Rashid told banglanews, “The narcotics are worth around Tk 3 crore and a case will be filed in this connection.”
