DHAKA: Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali on Saturday said Dhaka would discuss with the new government of India after elections on various unsettled issues, including Teesta water dispute.
He was addressing a discussion and orientation ceremony of Rangpur Division Development Association at Purta Bhaban in the capital.
The minister said, “Both Bangladesh and India are trying to increase the number of frontier hat (market) to boost business bonanza.”
Hasan Mahmud Ali said, “Now, the India polls running. After forming the new government, Bangladesh will sit in dialogue with its counterpart.”
Once there was rail link with India from Chilahati and now Awami League has taken initiative to reintroduce the line, he added.
Regarding the Awami League’s development works in northern region, he claimed Sheikh Hasina has done many development works in the area during the last five years.
