DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday sent a letter to the Election Commission (EC) asking about the property statement of former Jatiya Party Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader.
Senior Assistant Secretary of EC Farhad Hossain told banglanews that they had received the letter at noon.
ACC Assistant Director Hamidul Hasan issued the letter asking for Hawlader’s property statement submitted to the Returning Officer during the 9th and 10th general elections.
ACC has already started an investigation into an allegation against Hawlader about accumulating wealth illegally.
On April 10, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad appointed Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu secretary general of the party removing Ruhul Amin Hawlader from the position.
