Asia Internet Symposium at Dhaka on Apr 26

DHAKA: The Asia Internet Symposium-2014 will be held at Dhaka on April 26.

Internet Society (ISOC) Dhaka chapter will organized the symposium in association with the ISOC Asia Pacific Bureau at Gold Water Convention Center of Bashundhara City Shopping Mall at Panthapath in the city.

The list of chief dignitaries at the function includes State Minister for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission chairman Sunil Kanti Bose and ICT Ministry Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan.

Key note papers on different issues will be present at the symposium. Speakers including Naveed Ul Haq, chapter development manager of ISOC Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau, T I M Nurul Kabir, secretary general of Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh, Mahmud Hossain, chief corporate affairs officer of Grameen Phone and Lutfor Rahman, chief information officer of Airtel Bangladesh and Sumon Ahmed Sabbir, chief strategy officer of Fiber@Home Limited will present papers.

A panel discussion will be held with Dr. Sabbir Ahmed, president of ISOC Dhaka chapter in the chair and Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, vice chancellor of Daffodil International University, in the moderator.

The list of panel discussants will include Lt. Col. Mohammad Zulfiqar, director (system and services) of BTRC, Shabbir Hossain, head of wireless broadband of Grameen Phone, and Syed Almas Kabir, senior vice president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nova Ahmed of North South University.
