DHAKA: Former President and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has been relieved from personal appearance in court during future hearing into General Manzur murder case.

Additional district and sessions judge court of Dhaka passed the order following an application by the former military ruler who was present in the courtroom.

The court also entertained a request of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police for another three-month time for further investigation into the much-discussed-about murder case for last 19 years.

The CID was to submit its further investigation report Tuesday, but being failed to complete the enquiry, investigation officer Abdul Kahhar Akanda made a time request.
