BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Two local Awami League activists were killed in separate incidents of miscreants’ attack within a one hour gap in Baropota village under Benapole Port Thana of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Imanur, 27, activist of Putkhali Union Juba League, son of Anis Uddin and local AL activist Lalon, son of Majed and residents of the area.

Local sources said that a gang of miscreants hurled bomb aiming Imanur around 10:00am and shot Lalon at 11:00am in the area, leaving them dead on the spot.

Locals said that the killings might have happened over establishing supremacy in the area.

Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Port Thana Apurbo Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
