Neymar dreams of winning world cup

DHAKA: Brazilian superstar Neymar has vowed he will be fit for the World Cup and is dreaming of lifting the trophy on home soil.

“There’s no problem with my injury. The only problem is that I can’t help my Barcelona team-mates, he said.

Neymar picked up a foot injury in Barcelona's Copa del Rey defeat to rivals Real Madrid last month, ruling him out of action for at least four weeks.

But he is convinced that his latest injury setback will not affect his ability to perform at this summer's showpiece tournament in Brazil.

The 22-year-old admits that he has already thought about lifting the World Cup trophy this summer and describes the prospect as a 'dream'.

“It’s a dream to put on the Brazil shirt... even more so at a World Cup in my own country. It’s a dream that is about to happen and I hope that dream also ends with us winning the title.”

Neymar could yet return in time to play against Atletico Madrid in Barca's final game of the season, although it may be too late to claim the La Liga trophy.

He however praises 'wonderful' partnership with Lionel Messi as Barcelona battle Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid to claim La Liga.

“I’m cheering for them so they can play well and get to the final game to decide the title,' said the Barca winger.
