DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the physicians to serve patients with dedication and service mentality.

She said, not only medicine, a doctor’s touch of care or behavior can cure a patient.

‘We want this kind of service from you,’ the premier added.

Sheikh Hasian told physicians on Sunday morning at the 12th convocation of Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city.

The premier, targeting the doctors, told they should remember the oath of service at their workplaces.

‘We expect you would serve people. When people come to doctors they should get service as well as peace in mind.’

A total of 924 specialist doctors got certificates at the convocation. Among them, 16 specialists received fellowship.

Six of them won gold medals for their respective success in fellowship examinations in medicine and surgery.

State minister for health and family welfare Zahid Malek, college president SAM Golam Kibria, Vice-president Mohammad Shahidullah and former president of the college Mahmud Hasan, among others, were present at the convocation.
