DHAKA: A minor girl died after she slipped into an open manhole on Green Way lane near Nayatala Park area in the city on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ananna, daughter of Serajul Islam, a resident of the area.
Ramna Thana Sub-Inspector Imdadul Haque said, “The girl died after she fell down in an open manhole in the area around 5:00pm. On information, police rushed in recovered the body.”
He added: “The body was handed over to the family without autopsy upon request.”
