DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed eight fake police, detained by an anti-kidnapping squad of the Detective Branch (DB) police at city’s Aftabnagar area, on a 4-day remand.

They accused are Tajan alias Sujon, Yakub, Mamun Khalifa, Jamal, Shipon, Rubel, Shimul and Rafiqullah.

CMM court magistrate Atiqur Rahman granted the remand after Abul Bashar and Abdul Kader Mia, Sub-Inspectors of Badda Thana, produced them before the court with 40-day remand plea.

DB police led by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Rahmatullah Chowdhury detained them after they conducted a drive at Aftabnagar under Badda police station on Sunday midnight.

The law enforcers also recovered their microbus, including a pair of handcuff, a firearm, 20 handmade explosives and a wireless set at that time.

Four cases were filed in this regard with Badda Police Station by Azizul Haq Mia, police inspector of DB (south).
