CHAPAINAWABGANJ: A child was killed in road accident and a woman committed suicide in Gomastapur upazila of the district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Hasan, son of Azam of Naderabad village and Lalmon, wife of Abu Bakar of Parbatipur village of the same upazila.

Local and police sources said a shallow pump-run power tiller ran over the boy on Rahanpur-Alinagar Grameen road in Naderabad area on the evening, killing him on the spot.

On the hand, Lalmon killed herself hanging from ceiling with rope in the evening.

Family sources said she was mentally disabled.

Gomastapur police confirmed the matter to banglanews separately and said, “Investigation is underway in the incidents.”

None was detained in these connections.
