DHAKA: A security guard died after falling down from an elevator in Banani DOSH area in the city on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abu Sufian, 45. 

Sources said that the victim had been travelling in the lift of the six storied building but it stopped between floors around 9:00am.

Later, residents of the building tried to rescue him but becoming panicked the security men jumped off from the elevator, leaving him dead on the spot. 

Confirming the matter, cantonment Thana Sub-Inspector Liakot Ali told banglanews, “The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
