CHITTAGONG: A devastating fire broke out at a private clinic near to Probartak intersection of the port city on Saturday morning.

The fire originated from electric short circuit at the top floor of the nine storied building of Centre for Specialised Care and Research (CSCR) clinic around 8:20am.

On information, initially five fire fighting units rushed to the spot. Later, four more units joined and brought the blaze under control. 

Several patients were reportedly injured after suffocated from smoke inhalation.

Fire service and civil defense Chittagong divisional office deputy-director Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
