DHAKA: Foreign Minister Shahriar Alam expressed hope to fix the unsettled issues with Indian new government.
He came up with the expectation at his office on Thursday in a personal interview with banglanews24.com.
Minister said that the pending decisions between Bangladesh and India need to be sorted shortly.
He said, “If the new government of India does not fix the Teesta water issue, then we will seek international aid and interference.”
On the other hand, Shahriar Alam said that the bilateral relations between the two neighbor countries are very good and it will be continued with the new government as well.
“We are waiting to see the foreign policy and manner of Indian new government to us and then we will treat on that,” he added.
He also said that the political leaders of this subcontinent say so many things before election but the fact can be distinguished after getting power.
The previous government of India did not have absolute majority. As a result, they could not fix the issue but in this term if the government elected with the majority of candidates then the Teesta and other issues will solve, he hoped.
