14 abductees rescued in 17-day

DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Anti-Kidnapping Squad has rescued 14 abductees alive in past 17 days.

Manirul Islam, Joint commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police, informed media at a press conference held on Sunday noon at DMP media center.

According to the commissioner, a total of 63 complaints were submitted to the squad in past 17 days. Among them, 52 were on abduction and 11 were other crimes.

Among the complaints, Monirul Islam said, 28 crimes occurred in the DMP areas while 24 came from other places.

Earlier on May 3, DMP formed a team naming Anti-Kidnapping Squad to prevent kidnapping as well as to ensure speedy rescue of abductees.
