TANGAIL: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran said the relationship between Bangladesh and India will be further strengthened after the formation of new government in India.
The Indian envoy expressed his hope while visiting Kumudini Complex, a charitable institution, at Mirzapur Upazila in the district on Friday.
Pankaj Saran also said that the longstanding problems of Teesta water sharing agreement will be solved if Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister.
He also said that the trade and commerce between the two countries will expand.
Communal harmony in the area also will be strengthened, he added.
Deputy-Director of Tangail Local Government Division Gautam Chandra Paul, Mirzapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afroja Akhter Chowdhury, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nasrin Sultana, Kumudini Hospital Director Srimoti Saha, Dr. Dulal Chandra Poddar, Dr. Pradip Kumar Roy and Dr. MA Zaman among others was present in the function.
