BENAPOLE: Police in a drive detained a young man along with a kg of explosives from Dighirpar village in the upazila on Saturday.

The arrestee is Mansur Ali, son of Khalilur Rahman of the village.

Sub-inspector Rafiq Hossain of Benapole Port Police Station said, acting on a tip off, conducted a drive in the area and held Mansur.

Later, the law enforcers found one kg of explosive which used to made bomb covered with polythene from his possession.

A case would be filed in this connection with the respective police station.
