Transport strike underway in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ: District Microbus and Taxi Drivers’ Association went on a day-long strike across the district on Sunday morning to press home their one-point demand.

The organization called the strike demanding the rescue of driver of expatriate BNP leader Muzibur Rahman.

The members of the organization were seen picketing in various points of the district from 6:00am.

Earlier on Monday, the workers of the organization declared the strike after a human-chain programme around 11:00am in front of district Deputy Commissioner’s office.

On May 4, Muzibur Rahman Muzib was going to Sylhet from Sunamganj by a private car and went missing.

Later on May 6, a general diary was filed with Sunamganj Sadar Thana in this connection.

On the other hand, police detained six people for their suspected link in the abduction or missing incident.
