Major, brother caught with phensidyl in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: Police detained an Army major and his brother with 780 bottles of narcotic Phensidyl syrup in the district’s Soydabad area early Friday.

They were handed over to military police on Friday morning, police said.

The arrested are Major Reza Shah Mohammad Zillullah, 40, son of late Sultan Uddin of capital’s Azimpur and Abu Sadat Mohammad Milon, 32, son of Mohammad Hossain Ali of Binodpur area, Rajshahi. Reza is an Army officer of Combined Military Hospital’s engineering wing. Milon introduced himself as a contractor of Rajshahi University.

West Thana Police of Bangabandhu Bridge said,”Acting on a tip`off, a team of West Thana police raided a Dhaka bound Toyota car and detained them along with 780 bottles of Phensidyl at about 1:30 am.”

Sirajganj police super Mosharraf Hossain told banglanews24.com.bd,” The detained were handed over to concerned force on Friday morning.”

Sirajganj additional police super Mohammad Delwar Hossain Sayedee confirmed Reza as an Army officer examining his Identity card.

A general dairy was filed against them with Bangabandhu Bridge West Thana police.
