Mawa-Kawrakandi ferry services halted

DHAKA: Ferry services were halted on Mawa-Kawrakandi route protesting the assault of a bus driver, causing immense sufferings to passengers.

As per decision to Munshganj Motor Owners Association, workers stopped ferry loading and unloading works from 11:30am

Due to disruption of the ferry services, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the route creating a long tailback.

Following the protest, no ferry left the Mawa ferry ghat. On the other hand, two Mawa-bound ferries--Korobi and Oxfam---remained stuck in the mid river.
