SAVAR (DHAKA): A BRTC double-decker bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Baliapur area in Savar upazila on Friday.

The accident took place when the bus, coming from Dhaka, tried to overtake another BRTC double-decker bus in the area at 2:00pm, which left about 50 people injured.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Savar Traffic police In-Charge Farhad Hopssin, said, “Locals rescued the injured and admitted to the different hospital at the locality.”

Police and Fire Service members arrived at the spot, Farhad added.
