NARAYANGANJ: A man allegedly killed his wife and daughter over a family dispute at a rented house in Siddirganj of the metropolitan city early Saturday.

The deceased were indentified as Moyna Begum, 29 and daughter Nurjahan Akter Swapna, 13, hailed from Akhaura of Brahmanbaria. 

Quoting deceased family and neighbors, Siddhirganj Thana officer-in-charge Alaudidn told banglanews, the couple--- Moyna and Sumon—quarreled at midnight over family matter.  At one stage, Sumon hacked his wife with chopper and later hit his daughter when she tried to save her mother, leaving them dead on the spot.

Later, police arrested killer Sumon from his room and recovered the kitchen weapon from the spot.
