RANGPUR: Two minor girls drowned in a pond of Amashu Kukrul area of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased were identified as Srishti, 7, daughter of Selim Miah and class I student of Zummapara govt Primary School and Lambi, 6, daughter of Shamsul of the area and also class I student of Amashu Kukrul govt primary School.

Officer-in-charge Abdul Kader Zilani of Kotwali Thana said that they drowned in the pond during bathing as they didn’t know swimming. 

Being informed, the fire service team rushed there and recovered the body after fanatic search.
