GAIBANDHA: A teenage boy was killed after falling in a septic tank in Ullapara area of Saghata upazila on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Shamim Hossain, 15.

Bhorotkhali Upazila Parishad Chairman Shamsul Azad said Shamim fell in septic tank of a newly constructed building where he was standing around 2:00pm.

Another teenage boy fell in the tank as he came to save Shamim.

Being informed, a fire fighting unit of Gaibandha rushed to the spot and rescued the duo and took them to the Gaibandha Modern Hospital.

The duty doctor of the hospital declared Shamim dead and another boy out of danger.

Officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam of Saghata Police Station confirmed the matter to banglanews.
