BGB, BSF hold flag meeting

MOULVIBAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India held a sector commander-level flag meeting in Kulaura upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at the bungalow of Chatlapur tea garden in Sharifpur border area of the upazila at 11:30am.

Issues related to development activities, prevention of smugglings and crimes in the border area, and enhancing bilateral relationships were discussed at the meeting.

BGB Srimangal sector deputy-director general Colonel Tariqul Islam Khan and BSF Panisagar sector deputy inspector general Sree PK Joshi led the meeting on behalf of their respective side.

At the meeting, both sides agreed to increase the vigilance against illegal border crossing.

BGB officials urged the BSF officials to take necessary measures to increase awareness among people, who live in the border area, in preventing people’s tendency to take the laws into own hands.
