NAOGAON: A couple was electrocuted in Vandarpur village under Badalgachhi upazila of the district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Hamid, 50, and his wife Ezida Begum, 40, of the village.

Badalgachhi Thana Officer-In-Charge Alamgir Lenin told banglanews, “The couple was repairing a vertical tube well at their house at 10:00am; at that time, they were electrocuted after an iron rod came in contact with a live electric wire, leaving them injured critically.”

They were rushed to the nearby Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex in critical condition where on-duty doctor declared them dead, Alamgir added.
