CNG station strike postponed

DHAKA: Bangladesh CNG Filing Station and Conversion Owners Association called off the indefinite strike, scheduled to be started from 6:00am Sunday.

Confirming the matter, president of the organization Zakir Hossain Nayon told banglanews: “We held a meeting with Communications Minister Obaidul Quader. He assured us to meet our demands within August 14.”

He also forewarned that they would go for the strike if their demands are not fulfilled within the stipulated time.

On December 31, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources gave directives to Petrobangla to meet five-point demand of CNG Filling Station Owners. But the directives were yet to be implemented.

In these circumstances, CNG station owners, in an association meeting on May 10, decided to go on an indefinite strike, demanding implementation of their seven-point, from June 8 if the government increases their commission.
