Teenager chopped dead in city

DHAKA: A teenager boy was chopped to death centering a football match in city’s Jhigatola area on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Aiyat Haque, 17, son of Sahidul Haque, passed SSC examination from Dhanmondi Govt Laboratory School and resident of Hatirpool area of the city.

Police sources said two groups of college students locked into a clash centering a football match in the area in the afternoon, leaving Aiyat injured critically.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 6:00pm.

Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Dhanmondi Thana Ashok Chohan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
