KHAGRACHHARI: At least 15 people including Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were injured as local people attacked the camp of 51 BGB Battalion at Dighinala of the district on Tuesday evening.

The injured were rushed to the Dighinala Upazila Health Complex.

Officer-in-Charge of Dighinala Thana Sahadat Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Sarwar Hossain told banglanews that local people locked into an altercation with BGB members while working at the camp.

At one stage, police opened several rounds of teargas shells to disperse people.

Additional police were deployed in the area to thwart any untoward situation.
