COX’S BAZAR: At lest two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway in Baniarchhara area of Chakaria upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Miraj Hossain, 15, son of a Mozzammel Haq of Digarpankhali area of Chakaria upazila and Nurunnesa Begum, 30, wife of a Shah Alam of Chaiberbil area of Maheshkhali upazila.

Sub-Inspector Kamal Hossain of Chakaria Police Station told banglanews a Cox’s Bazar-bound minibus collided head-on with a bus at Baniarchhara area, leaving two passengers of the minibus dead on the spot and three others injured.

One of the injured was taken to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital and others in Chakaria Health Complex.

The bodies were sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
