Body to probe Kalshi Tragedy

DHAKA: State Minister for Home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that a 3-member body has been formed to probe into the Kalshi clash that killed 10.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Meer Rezaul Alam will lead the probe committee.

He made the disclosure while briefing the journalists at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, minister visited the injured of Kalshi Bihari Camp, who were under treatment at DMCH, around 4:30pm.

There he talked with the injured and expressed his condolence, reported banglanews correspondence.

The Inspector general of Police (IGP), Hasan Mahmood Khandaker and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Benazir Ahmed, among others, were present at that time.

Earlier, at least 10 people, including four members of a family, were burnt to death when two groups of Bihari locked into clashes at that area early Saturday over blasting fire crackers on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat.
