DHAKA: Several departments of Bangladesh including Executive and Judicial department became the puppet of a person.
This said in a report sent in Dhaka after attending a seminar titled ‘Awareness and Warning about Bangladesh” organized by the Honorable Society of Linkins-in on Thursday.
Some British lawyers had joined with pro-Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladeshi origin British lawyers in the programme.
The speakers said democracy became hosted at gunpoint this was not acceptable. They will appeal to the British government to take action against the situation.
They demanded the ban over the trade of ruling party’s leader, ministers and MPs. They also conveyed for setting embargo to entry of them.
Repression to not publishing the disclosure of Tarique Rahman in media proved that democracy and press freedom are violated in the country.
Barrister Ann Hos said Bangladesh government filed false case against Tarique and he is the victim of political revenge.
Quoting Barrister Stuart Stevens, the report said the latest parliamentary election was illegal as people rejected it. So the government is also illegal. Democracy and rule of law are absent in Bangladesh. United Kingdom, America and European Commission also rejected the election.
Head of Holborn Chambers and Human rights activist Barrister Stuart Stevens addressed the key note paper where Barrister Ann Hos, Barrister SK Kuman, Barrister Devid Rekter, Barrister and Solicitor AKM Kamruzzaman, Barrister Ayesha Qurayshi, Barrister TIM Wells, Barrister Crysteli, Barrister Francho, Barrister Maria Gongales, Barrister A Galahar and Barrister Husain Shamsuzzoha were present.
Bangladeshi origin British lawyers Barrister Hafizur Rahman, Barrister Ashraf Arefin, Advocate Liakot Al, Advocate Mahmud Hasan and member of Amnesty International Shamim Chowdhury were also present in the seminar.
