GAZIPUR: A dacoit was killed and five others were injured in a clash with locals in Dumni village of Prahaladpur union under Sreepur Upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sohel, 25. 

Locals said that a gang of robbers went to the house of Dr Rebuti Mandal to commit robbery around 3:00am.

Hearing the creaming of victim family members, locals cordoned the house around 4:00am that triggered a clash with dacoits, leaving a dacoit dead on the spot and five others injured.

Later, critically injured three were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

Confirming the matter, local Union Parisad Chairman Abu Saeed Akanda told banglanews, “On information, Sreepur Thana Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam rushed to the spot.”
