SAVAR (DHAKA): Three people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Savar, outskirt of capital Dhaka, on Monday, said sources of police.
Details of the deceased and the injured could not be known immediately.
At Kabirpur, a Rangpur-bound passenger bus of Shyamoli Paraibanhan ran over an elderly man in the bus stand area at 7:30am while crossing road, leaving him dead on the spot.
At Zirani, a passenger bus of Palash Paribahan, coming from Nabinagar, rammed an auto rickshaw, leaving an auto passenger dead and five others injured.
On information, Ashulia Thana police rushed to the spot, and sent the injured to Enam Medical College Hospital.
Police also recovered the dead body and took it to the thana.
At Aminbazar, a Dhaka-bound BRTC-bus ran over a youth in front of Modhumoti Model Town, leaving him dead on the spot.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Savar Model Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Mostafa Kamal told, “Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy and also seized the bus.”
Process is underway to file a case in this connection, added the OC.
