DHAKA: Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) Chairman Engineer M Rahmatullah resigned amid feud with its Managing Director (MD) Taqsim A Khan.
Rahmatullah sent his resignation letter to Personal Secretary Selim Khan of LGRD Minister Syed Ashraful Islam on June 19.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, he said he left the job on personal ground.
Sources said there was a long standing dispute between the Chairman and MD over appointment-business, corruption and several matters.
As MD Taqsem is relative of a powerful MP of the ruling party, he was committing corruption by lobbying with the high officials of the government.
M Rahmatullah joined Dhaka WASA on May 8, 2012.
Born in Manikganj district in 1948, Rahmatullah started his career as an assistant engineer (civil) of Bangladesh Agriculture University.
He was VP of the Mymensingh Agricultural University and founder president of the university Chhatra League.
