Nur Hossain’s driver detained

COMILLA: Police detained driver of Nur Hossain, the prime accused of the seven-murder case, from Belashahar area under Chandina upazila of the district early Wednesday.

The detainee was identified as Jobayer Hossain Jabed, 30, son of Nizam Uddin, hailed from Asmania village of the district’s Titas upazila.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Chandina Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Morshed said that police detained Jabed from his in-law’s house.

Jabed went into hiding after Nur Hossain’s escape to India, OC added.

Golam Morshed said that after detaining him early Wednesday, he informed Mamunur Rashid Mondal, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in Narayanganj, and also the investigation officer of the seven-murder case .

Narayanganj DB OC Mamun told banglanews that he along with his force is now on the way to Chandina to brought Jabed back.

Earlier, Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor, along with six others was abducted on April 27. Later, their bodies were found floating in River Shitalakhya on April 30.

Nazrul's wife filed an abduction case against Nur and four others on April 28.

Nur went into hiding immediately after the recovery of Nazrul's body.

Later, he was detained from Kolkata on June 15.

Police is finding his aides in order to reveal the truth.
