FENI: A 25-killomiter-long traffic gridlock on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway has unconfined in the evening after recovering the covered van on Friday.
The traffic congestion had started to loose from 6:00 pm as police managed to lift up the van under the culvert.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni Mahipal Police outpost ASM Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier, the covered van plunged into a river breaking the railing of a culvert in Muhuriganj area in the district at 1:30 pm that pushed thousands of passengers into serious sufferings as it creates gridlock.
Older Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chhagolnaiya also came in the jam as buses and cargo trucks were trying to ply in the road, the OC added.
