DHAKA: Poet Abul Hussain has passed away on Sunday night at the age of 92.
He breathed his last around 10:30pm at Square Hospital in the capital, said his elder son Selim Reza Forhad Hossain.
He left behind two sons, two daughters, relatives and many well-wishers.
Time of his namaz-e-janaza yet to be decided as a son and a daughter of him are staying abroad.
Abul Hussain was born on 15 August 1922 is a well-acclaimed Bangladeshi poet who is recognized as the first modern Bengali poet in Bangladesh.
He was a writer of 25 Books.
Abul Hussain received several awards for his literary achievements. Among them, following are notable Bangla Academy Award (1963), Nasiruddin Gold Medal and Ekushey Padak (1980).
