GAZIPUR: Miscreants on Thursday night shot at a garment official and took away Taka 15.5 lakh at Kashempur road under Konabari of the district.

The victim was identified as Manzurul Islam, 30, factory in-charge of Oishi Sweater Factory.

Witness said that six criminals riding on two motorbikes shot at and snatched away a bag containing Taka 15.5 lakh around 8.30pm.

The bullet wounds Manzurul is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
