DHAKA: The High Court Thursday said that Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will investigate only in Narayanganj seven-murder case and submit probe report before it.
An HC bench comprising Justice Reza-ul-Haque and Justice Gobinda Chandra Thakur passed the order after hearing a state appeal.
On Wednesday, Attorney General Mahbube Alam filed an appeal with the High court seeking its directives halting CID investigation in the case.
On the other hand, Mahbube Alam said that the hearing will be held in the same bench on the third progress reports of probe bodies formed for investigation to seven-murder case.
Earlier on Jun 2 and May 14, investigation committees formed by Public administration ministry, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Detective Branch of Police and Crime Investigation Department (CID submitted progress reports on investigation separately.
On April 30, seven bodies, including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four aides and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.
They were kidnapped from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27.
The three suspected killed--Lt Col Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Masud Rana--were removed from RAB-11 on April 29 and forced into retirement on May 6.
