CU (CHITTAGONG): A former Chittagong University student on Thursday allegedly committed suicide in north residential area adjacent to the university.

The deceased was identified as Farjana Binte Karim, 28, a former student of Mass Communication and Journalism.

Sources said that she was also the daughter of Nurul Karim, a former teacher of the Chittagong University Finance and Banking department.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Hathazari Thana Sub-Inspector Atikur Rahman said that police recovered Farjana’s hanging body from her bedroom in the evening following information received from her family.

The reason behind her suicide could not be known immediately, police said while the body has been sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
