DHAKA: A 12-year old boy drowned in a pond behind Hazaribagh Sikder Medical College and Hospital in capital on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as M Sabbir Ahmed Rabbi, 12, a class-VI student of Rayerbazar High School and son of one M Salauddin of Hazaribagh Tanarimal Gazmahal area.

Deceased’s father said Rabbi drowned in the pond while bathing here after playing football.

After searching, Salauddin recovered the body of Rabbi and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
