BARISAL: A NGO man died in Sher-e-Bangla Medical College on Sunday morning after he was attacked by miscreants.

The deceased was identified as Bidhan Chandra Roy, a field worker of Prashika Manabik Unnayan Kendra at Pirojpur Branch.

Earlier, miscreants attacked him on Saturday night at Zianagar under Amitpur upazila of Pirojpur when he was returning home from office, leaving him injured.

Locals rushed him to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in Barisal after the incident.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries.

However, Bidhan’s relative Jadav Chandra Roy told banglanews that some of local miscreants were threatening Bidhan for last couple of days for extortion.

He might be killed by them, he added.
