DHAKA: The joint forces held 10 persons from Kamalapur railway station on Monday morning for their alleged involvement in selling advance train tickets on black market.
The force included Rab, GRP, railway security, APBn and Ansar operated the drive around 9:30am.
According to law enforcers, the accused were found selling tickets on the black market from the queue of ticket seekers. They however failed to detain those who bought tickets on black market, they added.
Confirming the matter Railway police officer-in-charge Abdul Mazid said Kamalapur railway authority is monitoring the whole station by 16 close-circuit cameras.
On the second day, hundreds of Dhaka city residents Monday thronged Kamalapur Railway Station to buy advance train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the biggest religious festivals of Muslims.
Many of them had stayed at the station overnight, while others went there after seheri to join the queue for a better chance at getting the train tickets.
