DHAKA: The incumbent government has taken initiatives to ensure service safety for media people. Regarding the matter, Draft of Media Employees (Condition and Services) Act, 2014 is being formulated.

Information minister Hasanul Haque Inu told media at a press conference at Secretariat on Thursday noon.

The conference was arranged regarding a published report on empowering Deputy Commissioners (DC) to cancel declaration of publications.

Many of the newspaper owners terminate employees when they wish, even during Eid festivals. The minister upheld this matter when asked about the safety of media people.
