DHAKA: Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of Ramadan, was observed across the country on Friday with religious fervor and sanctity and offering of special prayer to the Muslims of Palestine city of Gaza and elsewhere of the world.
Millions of Muslims attended the prayers at the mosques across the country. The biggest Jumatul Wida congregation was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital.
Baitul Mukarram mosque Khateeb Moulana Mohammad Salauddin delivered sermons highlighting the significance of Jumatul Wida, Laila-tul-Qadar and Ramadan.
The Khateeb, in his Khutba, said, “Muslims are being tortured around the world, especially in Palestine; Jewish and Christian are attacking on the Muslims together, the Muslims have no alternative except to become united to uphold their iman (belief to Allah).”
At many Jumaa mosques, the devotees even offered prayers on roads. Khateebs and ulemas delivered sermons highlighting the significance of Jumatul Wida.
