DINAJPUR: At least two people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident at Durgapur of Birampur upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Raju, 28, son of Bablu Mia, hailed from Angat Colony under Dhamairhat upazila of Naogaon district and Shakil, 12, son of Sobahan Mia of the same area.

Witnesses told banglanews that the incident took place when a rashly driven bus hit the human hauler.

The Nasimon was going to the Shopnopuri, an amusement park of that area carrying passengers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, they added.

Confirming the matter, Birampur Thana Officer-in-Charge, Mominul Islam said that the accident left two dead on the spot and 20 more injured.

The injured were rushed to the Birampur Upazila Health Complex, he added.
