NATORE: At least three people were killed and 10 more injured in a clash between the railway employees and local people in Ishwardi Bypass Rail Station in Lalpur upzila of the district on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Jummat, 32, son of late Akbar Ali, of Dahorshala village of Lalpur upazila and Jeebon, 22, son of Abdur Razzak, and Rana Hossain, 25, son of Motaleb Hossain of Moubaria village of Ishwardi upazila.
Lalpur police said a brawl took place between several rail employees of the station and a tea stall owner over purchasing advance rail ticket that left an employee severely injured.
Following the brawl, people from both sides armed with sharp weapons locked into a fierce clash, leaving 13 people injured.
The injured were taken to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex. Of them, one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital and another breathed just right after being admitted there and the last one died while being shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
On information, police rushed in and took the situation under control.
