Momen mourns Dr Mosarrof’s death

DHAKA: Bangladesh Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr A.K. Abdul Momen on Friday expressed his condolence and deep shock at the death of freedom fighter and former lawmaker Dr M. Mosarrof Hossain.

Momen, in a statement, prayed for the salvation and eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Mosharraf, a former Gano Parishad member, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Apollo Hospitals in the city. He was 79. 

He was elected as a lawmaker in the 1970 election and later was given the Independence Award in 2013 for his role in the liberation war.

His wife Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf is the president of Bangladesh Mohila Awami League.
